The total wire run is often not much shorter than a wired setup. What you save is the cab penetration and the switch panel work, which is a real benefit on a UTV or a truck with a full interior you do not want to cut into.
The tradeoffs are real. Bluetooth range is limited, typically a short distance, so if you walk away from the rig the connection drops.
